Niki's 10-20-30 Pilates Journey-1st Session
-My First Session- I decided (per the recommendation of Loralee) to start with a reformer class. I’d never used a reformer before and had no clue what to expect. Upon arriving at the studio I was greeted by a warm smiling face who I knew had to be Loralee (the owner). I arrived early and therefore had an opportunity to watch a bit of the class before mine. I was delightfully surprised to find out that the studio has very small class sizes. Being the klutz that I am, I have anxiety about falling on my rear or looking like a Spartan cheerleader from Saturday Night Live when I’m supposed to be zumba-ing or stepping in sync with 30 other people. So one major thumbs up for the 5 person class size. On a side note, I didn’t mind waiting at all because the studio is very soothing and comfortable. I definitely did not feel like I was waiting in a locker room. The class was great and with a little gentle help from the instructor, I actually felt pretty confident using the reformer. I could feel my muscles working but because I was laying down it felt much easier then I thought it would. However any thoughts that I wasn’t working out very hard were quickly dismissed as soon as I stood up on wobbly legs and confirmed again that night when I was sore in area I had long since forgotten about. All in all I would say session 1 was a success.
