10-20-30 Program Update

Pilates Equipment Class : Reformer Jumpboarding
10-20-30 Program!

The nutrition consultation was an eye opener.  I never stopped to think how much sugar I was taking in my system in processed foods or drinks.  I have become more conscious of reading labels more carefully and calculating the amount of sugar that item contains.  I am a visual, hands on kind of learner so looking at the pile of sugar that one coke contains still stands out in my mind. I have never been one to eat many fruits or vegetables but I have been making a conscious effort to have more "color" in my diet.  My worst diet sin is diet coke.  It is not uncommon for me to drink 4 to 6 cans per day.  No wonder I have tummy rolls with all sugar substitutes and carbonation adding to my body storing fat.  This past week, I have limited myself to two or three diet cokes and then switching totally to water.  I know that doesn't sound like much, but it is a start to eliminating diet soda from my diet altogether.
It was very interesting to understand how my prescription drugs are robbing my body of nutrients which in turn causes side effects that may require more medication.  What a downward spiral!  I am now faithfully taking my vitamins and coqu10 for my heart health.  I am looking forward to meeting with Mary Lee Snodgrass, RPh again for help for arthritis and joint pain.
The classes these past few weeks have pushed me.  I have had the privilege of working with Loralee, Laurie and SaraLayne and all three have provided tough and challenging workouts. When I am working out, I do my best when I use most of my senses.  I watch the demonstration of a new technique, I listen carefully to the cues given and visualize in my mind the actions I am to emulate, I close my eyes to concentrate on that action, and use my sense of touch to let me know what my body is doing and how it is feeling.  The descriptive cues given by the instructors are just as important to me as the demonstrations.  If I can visualize the concept in my mind and see myself doing it, then I can usually complete the movement correctly.  Even though I am in the 10 program, I know it will take many more workouts before I see more changes in my body and my weight.  I am a work in progress.

10-20-30 Program

Our 10-20-30 Program was launched early January and has had an overwhelming response!  We will be following some of the participants on a weekly basis with their progess, personal thoughts and such.

All participants begin their program with a Posture/Movement Analysis with an Align Pilates Instructor and a Nutrition/Wellness Consultation with MaryLee Snodgrass, RPh.

Meredith J, 30 Session Program Participant during his Nutrition/Wellness Consultation with MaryLee Snodgrass, RPh.

After only 7 days Meredith dropped 6lbs!! Congrats.

"The first week went well. The Posture/Movement Screen and Nutrition Consultation were essestial to the program. They helped me know how much effort I need to put in, to see a change. What I like abouth the Nutrition Consult is that MaryLee not only gave information for weight reduction but overall health. She explained what foods and supplements could improve my depression which has contributed to my weight gain and current health issues. The first week was great and I am looking forward to the next!"
